Growth Strategy & Opportunity Assessment

An independent review of where your business can grow next. Flat fee, starting at $15,000.

If growth has slowed, or you suspect there are opportunities you've missed, an outside assessment gives you a clear, unbiased view. I review your business, positioning, customers, channels and marketing spend, and identify where additional investment is most likely to drive profitable growth. You get a prioritized list of opportunities, with rough budget ranges and the assumptions behind them, so you can decide what to pursue.

What it costs

A growth opportunity assessment starts at $15,000, and most run $15,000 to $25,000. It's a flat fee, quoted after a free 30-minute call, and depends on the number of channels, products and markets involved and the data available.

The assessment tells you where to grow. If you then want a detailed plan to act on, the 90-Day Growth Roadmap is a separate project that builds on it.

What I review

01  Business and positioning

How you make money today, what sets you apart, and whether your positioning still fits the customers you most want to grow with.

02  Customers and segments

Who buys, why they buy, and which customer segments are growing, shrinking or underserved, using your sales data, reviews and any research you have.

03  Sales channels

Retail, wholesale, ecommerce, marketplaces and direct sales: what each contributes, what it costs to serve, and where your channel mix is out of balance.

04  Competitors and market

Who you compete with in each channel, how they position themselves, and where there is room to expand into new markets, products or audiences.

05  Marketing and spend

What you spend on marketing, where it goes, and what the results suggest about where more investment could pay off.

06  Opportunities and priorities

The growth options worth pursuing, ranked by likely impact, cost and effort, with rough budget ranges and the assumptions behind them.

What you get

A written assessment with a prioritized list of growth opportunities: which audiences, channels and initiatives to pursue, in what order, and why.

Each opportunity comes with a rough budget range and the main assumptions behind it, so you can see which ideas deserve deeper work before you commit.

Initial findings are typically ready in two to three weeks, followed by a review session with your leadership team.

Who it's for

Established companies with $5M to $500M in revenue that want an independent, outside view of where to grow next. It fits best when growth has slowed, a major channel or customer is changing, or leadership is weighing new markets, products or investments.

I'm Dr. Linda Orr, and I lead every assessment myself. My growth work includes Magenta, a housewares company growing from major retailers into direct-to-consumer sales; retail sales analysis for PepsiCo; the brand architecture behind McKesson's Foster & Thrive launch; and Upwork's first marketing mix model across an $88M media portfolio.

Our Impact By The Numbers

$88M in marketing budget modeled for Upwork, 100+ clients from $5M to $500M in revenue, 25+ years leading growth, and 86% client retention.

Questions about the assessment

How much does a growth opportunity assessment cost?

Starting at $15,000 as a flat fee, and most run $15,000 to $25,000. Businesses with more channels, products or markets are quoted after a free 30-minute call.

How long does it take?

Initial findings are usually ready in two to three weeks. The timeline depends mostly on how quickly your sales and marketing data is available.

How is this different from the 90-Day Growth Roadmap?

The assessment identifies and prioritizes where to grow. The roadmap is a separate project that turns the opportunities you choose into a detailed 90-day plan with timing, owners and budgets. Many clients do the assessment first.

Does it include financial forecasts?

It includes rough budget ranges and the main assumptions behind each opportunity, so you can compare them side by side. It is not a full financial model or sales forecast. If you need detailed forecasting or marketing mix modeling, that is scoped as a separate project.
